Dear friends,
Over the past 20 years, I have written dozens of songs and recorded several albums to further the cause of animal welfare. Although I sang these songs in Spanish, animal rights are definitely a global issue. In order to reach a wider audience, I decided to record my latest set of songs with English lyrics.
I was motivated to do this because I realized that very few of the well-known vegan musicians around the world address this very important topic in their songs. As we all know, music is extraordinarily powerful and protest songs are part of all cultures, past and present, bringing to consciousness the struggles of the time.
Sadly though, raising awareness for animal rights is rarely featured as a topic artists choose to sing about. We've all heard songs that talk about the rainforest and climate concerns, but we don't hear anything about the animals whose fragile ecosystems and lives are the first to be disrupted.
In my opinion, animal exploitation, animal rights, and the vegan revolution are among the most important issues of our time. We see animal husbandry on an industrial scale leading to a loss of biodiversity, water pollution and massive greenhouse gas emissions, not to mention the wicked, appalling and appalling conditions in which many are housed. There are also human consequences, as meat consumption contributes to a high percentage of deaths from conditions like cancer, heart disease, and diabetes, among others.
With these troubling results in mind, I intend to dedicate the rest of my life to the cause of animal rights, working to raise awareness through music and relentless campaigning.
I hope these songs touch your heart and, if you're not yet meat free, encourage you to rethink your eating habits. Let's not forget the moral imperative: free animals from their suffering and safeguard their rights.
